Taranis Contracting builds and maintains asphalt roadways and highways of all sizes including accompanying ramps and intersections. We have the equipment, manpower, and expertise to construct and resurface highways and roadways at the Government, Municipal, and private levels. In addition to asphalt, we can build gravel roads.

In 2009 Taranis was awarded one of the largest road resurface contracts up to that time for The City of Thunder Bay. The contract involved asphalt milling, pavement resurfacing, and granular shouldering to more than 30 streets throughout Thunder Bay. Other resurface contracts completed by Taranis in Thunder Bay were the reconstruction projects on May Street and John Street. These projects consisted of sidewalk reconstruction, curb and gutter, granular base, and asphalt paving of these four-lane major municipal arteries.
In 2009 Taranis Contracting began year one of a two year project for the Ministry of Transportation with the resurfacing of 14 kilometers of Highway 11/17 Expressway which runs through Thunder Bay. This high profile project includes the resurface of the existing asphalt with Super Pave 19 and 12.5 asphalt mixes.
Taranis has also been contracted to construct new roads for private land owners to gain access to properties and cottage lots. These projects included layout, clearing and grubbing, drainage design, and installation of ditching and culverts and placing, grading, and packing of the granular road beds.
