In 2007 Taranis was awarded the contract by the City of Thunder Bay for the John Street Landfill's new entrance facilities and site preparation. The project consisted of clearing and grubbing approximately 3 hectares of land, 40,000 cubic meters of earth excavation and site grading, hauling and placing of 140,000 tonnes of granular materials, the excavation and preparation of large concrete foundations, and the construction of several kilometers of paved roadways, electrical and street lighting, and berm construction.
Other site development projects completed by Taranis include the Thunder Bay Hydro–Landfill Gas Utilization Plant, the George Jeffery Children's Centre , Hilldale Retirement Homes, and Half-Way Motors Nissan Ltd.'s new dealership building on Memorial Avenue in Thunder Bay.
