 History From small beginnings in Thunder Bay, Ontario more than 14 years ago, the Taranis Contracting Group has become one of the fastest-growing contracting companies in Northern Ontario.
Founded in 1995, Taranis began life as a small franchise called The Gravel Doctor in Thunder Bay. In just a few short years, The Gravel Doctor expanded its services from a driveway maintenance and landscaping operation, to include excavation, back filling and construction site preparation.
In 2000, another milestone was achieved when the company secured its first large contract with the City of Thunder Bay . Since that time, rapid company growth has been driven by an ambitious and innovative management team, who has taken the business into new sectors and geographic locations through the development of business relationships based on trust, value for money and continuous improvement.
Today, the company continues to diversify its service and product offering, increase the size and capacity of its operations and is consequently operating in larger and more competitive markets than ever before. In 2008, The Gravel Doctor recognized the need to refine its corporate brand image in order to effectively communicate its newly expanded range of services and unique market proposition.
